Your Excellency,
In reply to your despatch No.4473/1912 of
the 21st instant I have the honour to inform your Excellency that the office of the Opium Superintendent furnished me with the following information:-
The 71 cases of Persian Opium and 150 cases of
Benares Opium referred to in the bulletin of the
movement of opium relative to January and March last were imported by an opium Importer, under Article 4 and
its paragraphs with reference to the regulations
governing the commerce of opium published in the
Official Bulletin No.49 dated the 4th December 1915
being exclusively destined for re-exportation to countries where its importation is not prohibited,
and being now for this purpose deposited under the
vigilance of the authorities during their stay in this
Colony.
Of these, 25 have already been re-exported by
S.S."Pakwo" for Chile with transhipment at Kobe.
